The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU is saddened by the untimely death of Comrade Vusi Khoza.

Stationed at the Ncoame Correctional Centre and having being a senior Shop steward and a member of the Kwa Zulu-Natal Shopsteward Council,  Cde Khoza’s life came to an abrupt end when he got involved in a car accident last week Friday.

Comrade Vusi Khoza joined POPCRU from the Kroonstad Training College in 1997, which was an untransformed and segregated College without representative structures. Through their relentless effort, theu ended up having and forming part of the first Student Representative Council, leading with the late former Provincial Secretary Comrade Bhekisani Ntuli and the current Provincial Secretary Kwenza Nxele.

He was a paralegal officer, the Deputy Chairperson of COSATU Local.

A Memorial Service will be held tomorrow at the Ncoane Prison from 10am, and the funeral is to take place on Saturday at Newcastle.
