The Police and Prisons Civil Rights (POPCRU) in Limpopo is mourning the deaths of four Police Officers who died while responding to an accident scene on the N1 Highway between Mokopane and Polokwane in the province. We are also saddened by the passing of a driver of one of the vehicles which were involved in the fatal accident.

While our members live with the knowledge that their lives could come to an end at any moment during the execution of their duties, it remains hard to deal with the paralysing pain that these deaths has caused the organisation in the province and nation-wide. The deceased were providers for their families and loyal members of the South African public. They dedicated each day of their lives to the communities they served.

POPCRU wishes those who were injured during this accident a speedy recovery. We also extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of those who have left this earth. We encourage our members to offer their unwavering support to the families of our late comrades.
