POPCRU WELCOMES NEW RESERVE BANK GOVERNOR
The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) congratulates the newly appointed Governor of the South African Reserve Bank Lesetja Kganyago as announced by President Jacob Zuma today, 06 October. The union welcomes his appointment having faith that his vast experience in the public service dating back to 1996 will be to the benefit of the Bank and the South African economy. Kganyago has shown exceptional leadership skills and broad knowledge of the country’s financial landscape during his time as Deputy Governor.
During his State of the Nation Address early this year President Zuma classified his second term in office as one that will focus on radical economic transformation in order to address the triple social-ills; unemployment, inequality and poverty. POPCRU anticipates that the new Governor will align the strategic objectives of his office with that of the current administration and thus create a conducive environment that will not only permit South Africans to contribute and own a share in their country’s economy, but also make the nation the number one destination for investors.
POPCRU throws its weight behind Kganyago trusting that under his governance our country will generate the necessary growth needed to overcome its challenges. POPCRU believes that Kganyago is the perfect man for the job which he is well trained and experienced to excel in. We wish him the best of luck.
