POPCRU to take to the streets

The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) will be embarking on a national march following its 2018 National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting decision to confront head-on the challenges that have for long been raised, but ignored; all of which have adversely affected our members within our scope of operation.

Among the issues to be contained in the detailed memorandums include;

  • The finalisation of outstanding 2nd phase OSD
  • Overcrowding and understaffing
  • Once-off promotion for all members with 10 years or more in one salary
  • One Police Service- One Police Act
  • Promotions
  • Restructuring of the SAPS
  • Finalisation of the grading of PSA appointees levels
  • End outsourcing
  • Review of the Post-Establishment within Corrections
  • Reintroduction of the Transformation Task Team
  • State bank for Housing Scheme
  • The implementation of all signed agreements and resolutions
  • Implementation of the National Health Insurance

 

The memorandums will be handed over to the Ministers of Police, Justice, Transport and Health as follows;

As part of mobilising for the national march, there will be general meetings and lunch-time pickets taking place across all institutions in the country.
