The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) will be hosting a high-level delegation from Zambia consisting of government and union officials.
In our efforts to share bargaining practices in the criminal justice system, we are pleased to have facilitated this visit for the purposes of sharing experiences with unions in the security and public sector in general. This is in line with our continued efforts to help build a solid trade union movement on the African continent, with SADC countries being an immediate priority as has been demonstrated though our assistance in Lesotho, Botswana and Zambia over the past year.
We are confident that these interactions will boost efforts towards the unionisation on the continent.
The Zambian delegation will be led by the Permanent Secretary (equivalent to Director-General) Mr Bornface Chimbwali of the Public Service Management Services from the government of Zambia and the President of the Zambian Union of Government Employees (UG) Comrade Muyawa Kabisa.
A Media briefing session will be held as follows;
Date: Friday 31 March 2017
Venue: Sunnyside Park Hotel
Princess of Whales Terrace
Media is hereby invited.
